Perks of the Doggie Daycare Job

Yoohoo is not my dog. My dog wouldn’t leave a trail of destruction: tossed garbage cans, bits of plastic from pilfered loaves of bread, or the waste product of an ill-chosen diet.

This Chocolate Lab is, however, my responsibility.  And it can be an ugly, thankless part of my stay-at-home-mom job description.  Many days are filled with cleaning up doggie messes, reminding the kids to feed him, or curbing his enthusiasm for strangers.

It’s a good thing there are some perks to this job.  After picking up doggie detritus, and before settling down to desk work, there is nothing better than a walk around Dyken Pond on a crisp autumn morning.
