On a day like today, with ice storms downing power lines and uprooting massive trees, I’m grateful that I can stay inside with the kids and watch the winter spectacle from the comfort of my warm home.
My husband ventured out early on roads that could’ve doubled as ice rinks, and later fought his way back home past barricaded roads.
Meanwhile, our windows gave me as much exposure to the icy splendor as I wanted.

Wonderful photos of the trees outside. Early summer here in New Zealand! Stay tucked up inside, I think.
Beautiful photos! Looks like a great place to be, especially for sledding. That is really some sled? In Dallas, we usually have to use a trash can lid, or something, since we get such little snow…hardly anyone here owns a real sled. My favorite photo, however, is the first one of your teapots and your spectacular view of nature. What a perfect picture! Thanks for sharing it.
Stay warm and enjoy all that snow for me.

It’s been quite a few years since we had a snow like that in these parts, but looking at your great pictures makes me nostalgic.
Thanks, guys! High on the list for our home buying criteria was a sledding hill. We wanted to maximize the fun of long, snowy winters in NY’s Capital District.
hey sandra thx for sending me the link for the pics of the snowstorm looks awesome never seen one like that before
Gorgeous photos. Glad you’re all safe and snug.
We need a hill!
LOL! Lovely photos! It’s too bad we don’t live closer! Grace would love to go sledding with your son! She went out the last two days and had a ball!
