Finally, for the first time in a long time, maybe even since before I was born, I am incredibly PROUD of America. Yes, change has come, and more change is coming.
That’s right, the “true genius of America is that America can change.”
Yes, we can.

It’s awesome isn’t it? This feeling – the thought that we are now, finally, on the right path as a nation.
I feel a collective sigh of relief, a cheer, laughter deep bubbling up within us and around the world as all eyes were on election returns tonight.
There are so many reasons why this win was awesome. The least of which is the fact that it shows America isn’t as asleep as we thought and perhaps the hope for our future is still shining bright.
I grew up during the civil rights movement. I remember when Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Bobby Kennedy were assassinated and how sad everyone was, especially my parents. My dad didn’t live to see this election, but my mom proudly voted for Barack Obama and so did I.
I have never been more proud to be an American than I am now. I feel like a huge wait was lifted off of us and that America gets another chance in the world to show it just how great we really are.
I haven’t slept much since Tuesday night. I’m so restless to get started on whatever it is I need to be doing to do my part to make this country great again and make this world a better place.
When I woke up Wednesday morning after only 4 hours of sleep I checked the news just to be sure I wasn’t dreaming, that Barack Obama is now our President-Elect. I only managed to sleep 7 hours last night. I know I’ll crash in a day or two, but I don’t care. I’m using this energy for all it’s worth!
Sherri,
I know exactly what you mean. I feel like I’ve just finished a huge project, something that’s loomed over my life forever, and now I’m so excited I can hardly contain myself.
As I’d say if I were home in St. Thomas,
Leh we go now, me-son!
