Want to feel good? Hug a tree.
Even better? Plant a tree, and then give it a hug.
Today, we took a few Girl Scouts, including a couple who aren’t known for being into outdoor pursuits, and headed to Glimmerglass State Park to join the National Public Lands Day Celebration.
Volunteers planted trees, marked trails, measured campsites, and spruced up historic Hyde Hall with cheery annuals.
In return, we were treated to lunch and a Pond Habitat Presentation with State Biologist, Tom Hughes.
By the end of the day, we left with a few aching muscles, and the euphoria of having done a good deed for our world.
