Would you put a Star Trek screen in your classroom?

There is no doubt that this large-scale screen, resembling an Ipod Touch on steroids, is a marvelous advance in technology.

What I’m wondering is who would want it in their classroom?

I know that I wouldn’t want to see what my kids would do to it.  As it is, they have no respect for a computer screen.  They already act as if they have touch screens on their laptops.  Their dusty, grease-smeared screens can only be read through telepathy.

Peanut butter smears, dirt, whatever gets on their fingers (and yes, it can be quite disgusting) will now cover the “smart desks” of the near future.

I’ve seen Dance Dance Revolution pads decimated in mere weeks at school.  How long can the interactive desks possibly last?
