A Vision of K-12 Students Today Embedded Video

Teach me to think…

In this video vision from the Advocates for Digital Citizenship, Safety, and Success, students say:

We expect to be able to create, consume, remix, and share information with each other… and they ask, “Let me create something new with technology.”

And yet, so few students find that opportunity in school.

Is it true that “63% of teachers never do?” In the 21st Century, where digital media is easily accessible in the US, that doesn’t seem possible.

And yet, so few teachers dive into digital learning.

Fortunately, home schooled students have opportunities not found in school. When home schooled kids demand,

“Teach me to think, to create, to analyze, to evaluate, to apply.”

We say, “YES!”
