I wondered too about the transfats - they advertise there are none but then in the ingredients they list partially hydrogenated soybean. I'm confused...will have to investigate....Keep up selling and giving our soldiers "a little bit of home" far away.

Being a Navy wife, I am all for supporting our troops! How about calling it "TROOP TO TROOP". I also was a Girl Scout for many many years. My Mom was even a cookie chairperson and I have fond memories of cases & cases of GS cookies stacked from floor to ceiling in our living room during cookie time. My favorite would be the Samoas. I need to try the frozen Thin Mints-- sounds yummy! Good luck with your sale.

I think it's wrong to send our kids out to sell overpackaged food made with hydrogenated oils and corn syrup.

Great idea. Sometimes I think the GS are a bit too serious on the marketing and sales side these days (at least around here) but I know the troops love packages sent over.

We collected a bunch of junk food items and sent them. When we had local firefighters and National Guard members fighting fires and keeping order in the area--they got snacks and assorted goodies, too.

Me, I've tried to stay away from the GS cookies. Still loving those frozen Thin Mints!

Thanks for the suggestions! We'll have to make sure we collect a LOT of cookie donations & so that we can sent them to soldiers overseas and the ones recovering as well.

This is a great way to help support our troops!

I don't have a good name for you to put in your drawing hat, but no matter what you call it, the action is what matters.

You could also send cookies to our troops stationed here in the states training for deployment or recovering from war injuries. It would be great if you would send cookies to Brooke Army Medical Center at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, TX. They treat the most severely wounded in their state-of-the-art facilities.

Or find a base in your state that has troops training for deployment or recovering in that base's hospital.

Since many troops from each state's National Guard are now on active duty, you might want to contact your National Guard and support the troops from your state.
