My husband always jokes that I can’t start a project without a pile of books. It’s true. I also can’t start an exercise program without the right outfit, or a sport without the right gear.
Before we adopted a puppy, I picked up Mother Knows Best: The Natural Way to Train Your Dog. When we decided to have children, I rushed out to get What to Expect When You’re Expecting (and later the First Year & Toddler books.) Soon I was collecting every book on parenting that I could find at Barnes & Noble. By the time I was ready to turn over all those baby books to one of my sisters, it was quite a pile.
In the years that I thought about switching to homeschooling, I also picked up some excellent books. Here are some of my favorites (in random order):
